What a week it’s been for #TeamPTH, our members have been flying the red, white, and black across the UK and Europe with some truly incredible performances!
Ironman 70.3 Poreč, Croatia
A huge congratulations to Cathryn Williams and Nathan Launchbury-Jones, who both took on the challenge of Ironman 70.3 in Croatia. The pair showed brilliant determination from start to finish. A massive well done to Cathryn, who not only delivered an outstanding race but also placed 3rd in her age category, and in doing so, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Nice! What an achievement and a proud moment for everyone at the club.

Oceanman Ibiza – 10KM Swim
Over in sunny Ibiza, Mike Launder completed the mammoth 10km Oceanman swim, tackling open water, waves, and tough conditions along the coastline. An amazing effort and testament to Mike’s endurance and commitment, very well done!
Ironman Cascais, Portugal
Our swim coach Jordan Lee-Discombe headed out to Cascais to take on the full Ironman distance, and delivered a seriously impressive time of 10 hours and 15 minutes! A huge effort across all three disciplines and a brilliant example of hard work and consistency paying off. Congratulations, Jordan, from all of us back home!
West Glamorgan XC League – Round 1 (Pembrey)
The West Glam XC League kicked off in classic cross-country style wet, windy, and tough underfoot! Despite the conditions, our three teams performed superbly, with plenty of grit and team spirit on display throughout. A massive well done to Ben Williams, who ran a storming race to finish 3rd overall, and a big thank you to Tri HardHarriers for hosting another fantastic event. We’re already looking forward to Round 2!
Marathons
Abingdon Marathon – Huge congratulations to Paul Jelley, who completed the marathon in style. Months of training paid off with a strong, consistent performance!
York Marathon – Well done to Anthony Holling, who took on the challenge and represented PTH brilliantly up north. Another great result for the club!
Palma Half Marathon and 10k
Over in Mallorca, Sharon Penhale took on the Half Marathon, while Carolyn and Mike Hayden completed the 10K. Beautiful scenery, sunshine, and great runs from all three — well done and enjoy the recovery in the sun!
Parkrun
Ystalyfera
Heidi Waters led the way with 1st place, followed by Andrew Davies in 2nd!
Course PBs for: Ben Peever, Peter Richards, Richard Lowe, Jenna Reed, Kelly Warren, Dean & Jayne Howe, Kay Barnes, Jackie Richards, Cath Courts, and Jenine Greenway. Brilliant results all round!
Maesteg
1st Female Jane Harwood and 1st Male Gareth Poston both took top spots!
Course PBs for Neil Rees, Lesley & Andrew Mainwaring, Emma Rees, and Jayne Owen. Amazing running by everyone — great to see so many personal bests!
