Our second athlete bio is up on Instagram, its the inspirational Ann Thomas who give us some thoughts on running…
Well my athlete story is I didn’t start running until I was 64. I joined the Harriers through Darren Richards in the beginners class. Hated the running (laughs) but didn’t want to go into old age unfit. I was running for 3 months when I done my first race which was Severn Bridge Half Marathon. I hadn’t even done a 5k or 10k before. That first race was fantastic, the camaraderie and support in races is phenomenal. I have got addicted to the races but don’t like the training as everyone will tell you (laughs) but love the races. I am 70 this year and although I can’t complete with all the fasties I try and keep going, and hopefully will run for years to come. I am in Group 2 and expect to stay there for evermore. My favourite race at the moment is Porthcawl 10k absolutely loved it and Port Talbot Half Marathon…
Keep up the great work Ann!
