Following from the fourth world cross-country championships at chepstow, a move was made to eliminate Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England in an effort to form a British Athletics Team. However, some hope remains with the Gwent Cross Country as an appeal is launched to attract more athletes to the sport.
